JaiLovesCaketh japanese way to cook them is to "fry-steam" them. you heat some oil in a pan and fry the gyoza on both sides until it gets some color then you pour some water in the same pan and put a tight lid on it right away. the idea is for the water to steam the gyoza and cook the inside.
