MissJ9 is female from PDX
J9 is all about food and kitchen lore. She has a love/hate relationship with most gadgets and has been trying to find the perfect ice cream scoop for years. In 2001, J9 graduated from a Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute, and then promptly dismissed the majority of her education there. She went on to work in small bakeries, cafés, and delicatessens, concerning herself with making the perfect cookie and cappuccino, instead of sugar sculptures or duck terrines. She believes that food is best when unpretentious. She prefers dinner at home with friends to fancy chefs’ tables (though once every couple of years those are nice, too). J9 thinks that there is magic in the kitchen, if nowhere else in life.
If J9 were Queen, every person would be given seeds, dirt, and time to watch food grow.
After deciding that she loves food too much to make it for a living, J9 returned to “real” college in 2004 to finish her Bachelor’s degree in Nothing In Particular, with special emphases in Ethics and Communication. She’ll soon be returning for a second helping, a Master’s Degree in Writing with a concentration in Book Publishing. J9 feels nervous if there aren’t Emergency Waffles in her freezer or raw cookie dough in her fridge. She is secretly addicted to Cadbury’s MiniEggs. J9 thinks that little is better than good company, good wine, or good chocolate, in that order. Crusty bread has made her weep with joy.
She lives with her monocular cat in Portland, Oregon, where she unabashedly picks blackberries from roadside ditches.
