Frikadellen (German Meat Patties)

Ingredients
- 500g minced beef (or half pork, half beef mince)
- 1 small onion
- 1/2 baguette or equal quantity of any white bread
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon of mustard
- 1 vegetable or meat stock cube
- parsley
- pepper
Call them Frikadellen, Buletten, Fleischpflanzerl, Fleischküchle or Klopse. Whatever they are called, German meat patties are the best.
- finely chop up the onion
- cut up the bread in very small pieces
- soak the bread in water, then squeeze out the water
- Put the meat, onion, the 2 eggs, bread, mustard, the chopped up stock cube, parsley and pepper into a bowl and knead until you got an even mixture
- form flat hamburgers not bigger than the palm of your hand
- fry the hamburgers in olive oil
