How to make Chinese Steamed Spareribs with Black Bean Sauce
Cut the spareribs crosswise into 1" - 2" sections. Combine the rest of the ingredients. Transfer spareribs and sauce into a shallow, heatproof dish that will fit inside your steamer (a pie plate works great.) Let marinate at room temperature for 30 minutes.
Set spareribs in steamer. Steam on med-high heat for 18-20 minutes until ribs are no longer pink. Make sure that when you are steaming that you don't run out of water in the steamer. Replenish with additional water, if needed.

Judy saysgulp. that's some sexy looking ribs - don't look fiddly at all, nice bite size chunks :) It reminds me of those little metal rice pots you can order for dim sum with spare ribs on top! I wish I could take a piece off the screen!!!

beautiful photo! I've always loved the taste of this dish but never usually order / make it myself - it's too fiddly to eat! I'm pretty sure the sauce will go with other stuff though so I'll try it out :)
