How to make BULGARIAN CHICKEN
In a deep skillet heat the oil. Chop coarsely the onion and lightly fry it in the heated oil. Add the chicken slices and fry on the both sides until golden brown. Transfer the chicken breast with the onion in a plate, cover and keep warm. Add 1 more tbsp olive oil if needs, add the flour and stir until it becomes like a white sauce. Add the red paprika, continue stirring to dissolve it in the sauce, add the beer, the chicken with the onion, salt, paprika and the parsley. Reduce heat on low and cook until about 30 minutes. Serve warm.
Originally this recipe is served with a boiled white rice.

DavidJohnson saysThis is a great recipe, so tasty! I think I used a darker beer than you; I chose a fairly strong, rich, spicy dark beer which worked really well. What beer do you use?

zoridream saysI'm glad you like this recipe!:):) I use a gluten-free beer, it's lighter in a color, but any kind of beer is works great for this dish.

hodihigson saysWe were in Bulgaria recently and had SAMOKOV chicken, is this the same? We were staying in Samokov, and there is nothing when you google that name. It looks a bit darker and ours had green in it (not sure what) it was delicious

zoridream saysI don't think it was the same. You see, every part of Bulgaria has it's own different recipe. This is from my parts: North-Est part, my city is located on the edge of the river Danube, infront of Romania. Anyway, i hope you liked Bulgaria and you enjoyed your stay there :)
